Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities:Preparation of contracts, including details regarding quantities of required materialUndertaking feasibility studies of projects.Analyzing completed works of sub-contractors and arranging for payment Site visits, for the assessments and projections for future work on running projectsPrepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labor involvedPrepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involves liaising with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantitiesEvaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors. Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.Monitor and keep track of project progress and be responsible for measuring and valuing variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments, and the final account.Work as part of a team to ensure that the clients requirements are delivered.Undertake any other responsibilities when required.Tasks:Basic Tasks IncludePreparing material schedules based on drawingsPreparing and pricing bills of quantitiesLiaising with vendors to acquire competitive pricingCreating a database of vendors and prices for common installation itemsEnsuring all required approvals are obtained on MEP design before the commencement of MEP works at the site. Assisting in procuring MEP technical specifications and submittals for projectsAssist in verifying electrical bills of quantitiesPreparing subcontractor work valuations and payment certificatesMonitoring project expenditure to assist in determining project profitabilityReceiving weekly reports from the site and compiling them into a coherent department reportAssisting in preparing project programsQualification:A Degree in a Related Program from a reputable institutionProficiency in Microsoft Excel and project softwareAbility to work and produce quality results under pressureAbility to learn and adapt to multi-cultural environmentsGood communication and interpersonal relation skillsLocation: AccraEmployment Type: Full Time
