Job Description
Position in the organization and working hours
The Operator
Reports to the Lead Operator;
Works in a 24/7 schedule during all days of the year including weekends and public holidays.
Purpose of the function
Executes operational activities related to loading/discharging of vessels, storage and all other handling of petroleum products on the jetty in a safe and effective manner;
Executes daily maintenance activities on the terminal facilities;
Takes care of safety for him/herself and others on the terminals;
Engages in emergency response activities like firefighting and spill containment.
Main activities
Performs operational and maintenance tasks on the jetty;
Works in a team of several operators;
Works according internal rules and procedures;
Communicates about the execution of the work with other terminal staff and external staff like ship staff and surveyors;
Is continuously aware of the safety risks of the work and intervenes when safe execution of the works so require;
Joins regular operational, safety and emergency response training;
Administrates the execution of the work on internal forms;
Requirements
Has all legally required certifications and training's;
Has a basic-level technical education (high school level);
Masters the English verbally and in writing;
Has basic computer skills (e-mail and internet);
Has proven teamwork skills.
