Job Description
Position in the organization and working hours
The Mechanical Technician:
Reports to the Operations Manager;
Has no subordinates;
Works during office hours;
Is prepared to work outside office hours if so required.
Purpose of the function
Executes mechanical maintenance activities on the terminal facilities;
Assists with other maintenance activities when so required;
Assists with operational activities when so required;
Takes care of safety for him/herself and others on the terminals;
Engages in emergency response activities like firefighting and spill containment.
Main activities
Performs maintenance tasks and occasional operational tasks on the facility;
Works together with the electrical technician and operators;
Works according internal rules and procedures;
Communicates about the execution of the work with other terminal staff and external staff like contractors;
Is continuously aware of the safety risks of the work and intervenes when safe execution of the works so require;
Joins regular technical, safety and emergency response training;
Administrates the execution of the work on internal forms;
Requirements
Has all legally required certifications and trainings;
Has a medium level technical education as welder (high school + level);
Has at least 5 year experience as welder or mechanic, preferably in heavy industry;
Masters the English language verbally and in writing;
Has basic computer skills (e-mail and internet);
Has proven teamwork skills.
