Job Description
Position in the organization
Reports to the Operations Manager;
Leads a team of Operators;
Works in a 24/7 shift system on a rotation basis.
Purpose of the function
Executes operational activities related to loading/discharging of vessels, storage and all other handling of petroleum products on the jetty in a safe and effective manner;
Executes daily maintenance activities on the terminal facilities;
Is responsible for the safe and effective execution of the operational activities related to loading/discharging of vessels, storage and all other handling of petroleum products during his shift;
Leads his shift team in reaching the targets as defined by the terminal management;
Represents the management at the moment they are not present at the terminal.
Main activities
Performs operational and maintenance tasks on the jetty;
Leads the team of operators, first level of Human Resources Management;
Prepares and plans the execution of the operational activities in his shift;
Communicates with internal staff and external instances (surveyors, terminals, ship staff) about execution of operations;
Ensures proper administration of the results of the execution of operations;
Ensures the safe execution of operations, in line with internal and external procedures and guidelines;
Leads initial emergency response in case of incidents.
Requirements
Has all legally required certifications and trainings;
Has a mid-level technical education (high school +);
Has at least 5 year experience in petroleum operations (terminal, offshore, tank ship);
Masters English verbally and in writing;
Has good computer skills (MS Office);
Has proven leadership skills;
Has a hands-on mentality, problem solver.
